Dr Simon Arnesan
Hi, I’m Dr Simon Arnesan and I have recently joined the VetLove veterinary team at Ballina. I was born in Christchurch, New Zealand, where I spent my first 20-odd years.
I originally enrolled in a veterinary degree because I had a keen interest in the scientific side of things, but as I progressed through the course I realised how much of a great career being a veterinarian would be.
Upon graduating, I started work in South Australia and continued there for most of my career. I have also spent several years practicing in the United Kingdom. During my career, I had the pleasure of working with a huge number of species, from snakes and seals to alpacas.
Now, 15 years later, I still love what I do. It is a pleasure and a blessing to help my clients care for their pets every day. I have a keen interest in orthopaedic surgery and find great satisfaction in repairing broken limbs in pets.
Outside of work, I have a great passion for the ocean and mountains. I’m a keen free-diver and love spearfishing and chasing crayfish. I also spend a lot of time at the beach, swimming in the ocean with my two young children. Growing up in New Zealand, I used to do a lot of mountain climbing in the snow and skiing. I also enjoy bush walks of all shapes and sizes and getting up to waterfalls and into the mountains.
I am very excited to have moved to this beautiful part of the world and to be working at VetLove. I admire the passion VetLove has for patient care, with such a caring attitude for both people and their pets.
I look forward to meeting you and your pets very soon at VetLove Ballina.
