Hi, I’m Dr Simon Arnesan and I have recently joined the VetLove veterinary team at Billinudgel. I was born in Christchurch, New Zealand, where I spent my first 20-odd years.I originally enrolled in a veterinary degree because I had a keen interest in the scientific side of things, but as I progressed through the course I realised how much of a great career being a veterinarian would be.
Upon graduating, I started work in South Australia and continued there for most of my career. I have also spent several years practicing in the United Kingdom. During my career, I had the pleasure of working with a huge number of species, from snakes and seals to alpacas.
Now, 15 years later, I still love what I do. It is a pleasure and a blessing to help my clients care for their pets every day. I have a keen interest in orthopaedic surgery and find great satisfaction in repairing broken limbs in pets.
Outside of work, I have a great passion for the ocean and mountains. I’m a keen free-diver and love spearfishing and chasing crayfish. I also spend a lot of time at the beach, swimming in the ocean with my two young children. Growing up in New Zealand, I used to do a lot of mountain climbing in the snow and skiing. I also enjoy bush walks of all shapes and sizes and getting up to waterfalls and into the mountains.
I am very excited to have moved to this beautiful part of the world and to be working at VetLove. I admire the passion VetLove has for patient care, with such a caring attitude for both people and their pets.

Dr Sophia Hinrichsen - Veterinarian
Hi, I’m Dr Sophia Hinrichsen one of the veterinarians on the great Billi team!
I have always loved animals so much and since the age of 5 decided to be a vet.
I have been lucky enough to work in amazing equine hospitals in Australia, USA and Denmark.
I have also presented my equine research in Australia and USA, focussing on equine endocrinology and antibiotic resistance.
Equine medicine is my passion but I do love to work with all animals great and small.
When not at the clinic you can find me on the beach with my horses.
Dr Charlotte - Veterinarian
Hi, I'm Dr. Charlotte, one of the vets here at VetLove Billinudgel. I'm originally from Toronto, Canada but moved over to Australia to complete my vet degree and decided to stay. I've always loved all animals big and small from the young age of 3. I've gained a lot of experience over the years and have worked in clinics from the age of 16. I've worked with many specialists both here and in Canada and was able to gain a lot of knowledge about internal medicine, emergency medicine and oncology.
In my spare time I love to explore the Northern Rivers area or relax with a good book at the beach. Right now I have small family which includes me and my little ginger kitten Chickpea and hope to expand one day with a dog (I'm a sucker for a greyhound or great Dane)!

"My cat was hit by a car in front of our house last week. I rushed to the nearest vet, and even though I was not a client they took us in straight away. Sadly, he did not make it, but the staff were so lovely and gave me time and space to say my goodbyes. This week we received a lovely card from them in the mail. I will certainly be visiting this vet again when we get our next pet".

"My little girl Cinnamon very sadly, after putting up a good fight, didn't make it.Simon was her main vet while I also saw Lauren once. The day that I knew it was time to let my little girl go vet Lauren and Mallika were so respectful. Lauren was kind, empathetic, honest, gentle and allowed as much time as I needed to say goodbye. Thankyou".

We had to take our precious Burmese there and they could not have been more loving and caring as was quite a heartbreaking ordeal and lots of decisions to be made. very patient and thorough explaining everything to us several times and no judgment at all. Helped keep costs low whilst giving our baby the best treatment. Thank you so very much. see you in a week for a check up - 5 STARS most definitely!Coco and Latte our Burmese mummy and daughter"

"Thank you all at Vetlove so much for helping Little Bikkie with her laceration. She loved each and every one of you, and I do too! You are all so amazing and helpful and friendly and our little pickle will see you soon. Thank you!"
"This clinic has such welcoming and personable staff. They are very thorough with all of their examinations and has an obvious love of animals no matter how big or small. I had a German Shepherd puppy with an abnormal gait and a Russian Blue cat with plaque on his teeth. Despite the variances in conditions, both of my animals were treated with an equal amount of love and kindness from all the staff. 6 months on, my not so little puppy has a near to perfect gait and my feline prince has nice pearly whites again. All fees are charged at reasonable rates with the convenience of a regional location".
