Common Surgical Procedure
Having your pet desexed is a common surgical procedure performed under a general anaesthetic by our veterinarians. Desexing your pet is a day procedure, typically your pet is admitted in the morning of the surgery and is discharged later that day in the afternoon.
We highly recommend to desex your pets mainly because it prevents unwanted pregnancies and relieves rehoming centres. Research has also shown that desexed animals can actually live longer and healthier lives!

Unwanted litters! Unplanned litters that could have been prevented end up in shelters & pounds each year with an unknown future.
Your female pet will live longer! Desexing will prevent uterine infections & breast cancer.
Major health benefits to the males! Desexing will prevent testicular cancer & stop him roaming away from home looking for mates.
Eliminate female heat cycles! During a cycle your pet can vocalise & can even urinate more frequently – this can cause accidents in the house.
Reduces aggressive behaviours in dogs! Keep our kids safe
