Hello, my name is: Eleanor Cunningham (Elle)
Position at VetLove: Veterinarian at VetLove Flagstone
I’m originally from: Wollongong, NSW
I Studied at: University of Queensland - Gatton
Qualification: BVSc (Hons)
A bit about me: After graduating from vet school, I undertook a 12 month small animal rotating internship at VSS. Since finishing my internship I have worked at a few GP practices in Brisbane. I really enjoy small animal medicine and surgery, and hope to gain membership in one (or both) of these fields in the next few years.
Pet’s at home: Two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels – Luna and Taylor; and a DSH cat - Toby Oliver
Favourite Animal: Dogs 🙂
The favourite part of my day is: End of the day, when I can kick my feet up and enjoy some chocolate and wine.
The least favourite part of my day: The time between waking up and having my first coffee.
Most memorable moment: Every new surgery I perform is such a thrill – each one becoming a memorable moment for me.
What I like to do in my spare time: baking, dog shows, gardening, hiking.
Lisa Plumb - Practice Manager
My earliest memory was watching and wanting to ‘pat’ a honey bee on the window sill while being bathed in the kitchen sink. My poor mother each day would say “now don’t touch the bees or bring anything home”. I once had a pet moth for a week who lived on the ferns in the garden, it was magical to watch as it would lick up caramelized honey. While trying to catch a butterfly I ran face first into a wasp nest…a quick trip to the local doctor for an adrenaline shot and all was fine. At 5 I walked into town alone with my money determined to buy myself a pet mouse…the search party found me walking home again with a prized white friend from the pet shop in an empty milk carton.
In primary school the principal addressed assembly and I watched in horror, as behind him, on a very tall ladder, the maintenance man cleaned out what at first we thought were leaves, they were birds nests with occupants. I dashed to the tuck shop, begged for an ice cream bucket and shadowed that ladder picking up the victims, tears streaming down my face. The maintenance man was very kind and gave me a ‘recipe’ of what and how to feed the transparent little pigeon babies and that night mum kindly kept them warm in the oven on the shelf under dads dinner….
In 1995 after a start in nursing and managing a human medical practice I met Sue Crampton and Glenda Sinclair-Gordon two impressive women in the veterinary world and I eagerly joined Provet veterinary supplies as Customer Service manager. My training in all things Veterinary has continued to this day and includes instruments and equipment and a vast knowledge of the range of veterinary pharmaceuticals, nutrition, business management and what it is like to be a pet owner on the other side of the counter.
My menagerie has dwindled in the last couple of years but special memories remain for each and everyone of them. Sammy Banana a feisty ginger tom cat who kept the neighborhood dogs in line, Cats Boy Boy who didn’t mind a shower, and his sister Madame, Bessie the black kelpie Labrador cross and smartest dog I still have ever met, Rosie Roo the white Labrador and most gentle loving happy girl who managed a wag of her tail right to her last breath. ‘Brown’ who is a silky chicken with more character than any chook in the universe and Pudge who drives us insane with his meowing….

"My cat was hit by a car in front of our house last week. I rushed to the nearest vet, and even though I was not a client they took us in straight away. Sadly, he did not make it, but the staff were so lovely and gave me time and space to say my goodbyes. This week we received a lovely card from them in the mail. I will certainly be visiting this vet again when we get our next pet".
"Fantastic service, at Vetlove every vet we have seen has been great with our cat and now our new puppy! The little puppy goodie bag is adorable, she is chewing on the new toy now".

"The staff here are wonderful and they always seem to be able to fit us in when we have an emergency. Even Oscar and Rory don't seem to mind it (our cats)! Highly recommended."
"VetLove are wonderful, professional, loving care of my friends dog who sustained a nasty dog bite. The procedure fully explained, happy outcome after surgical procedure, after care explained in lay mans terms, cost very reasonable. Throughly recommend this wonderful vet practice. Also noticed how happy staff interact with each other, pet owners and our precious fur babies."
"My little girl Cinnamon very sadly, after putting up a good fight, didn't make it.Simon was her main vet while I also saw Lauren once. The day that I knew it was time to let my little girl go vet Lauren and Mallika were so respectful. Lauren was kind, empathetic, honest, gentle and allowed as much time as I needed to say goodbye. Thankyou".
"Very friendly and knowledgeable staff at Vetlove. We had to take our precious Burmese there and they could not have been more loving and caring as was quite a heartbreaking ordeal and lots of decisions to be made. very patient and thorough explaining everything to us several times and no judgment at all. Helped keep costs low whilst giving our baby the best treatment. Thank you so very much. see you in a week for a check up - 5 STARS most definitely!Coco and Latte our Burmese mummy and daughter"
"Dr Yuki is amazing. Stoked Vetlove is our local looking after our fur babies"
"Thank you all at Vetlove so much for helping Little Bikkie with her laceration. She loved each and every one of you, and I do too! You are all so amazing and helpful and friendly and our little pickle will see you soon. Thank you!"
"This clinic has such welcoming and personable staff. They are very thorough with all of their examinations and has an obvious love of animals no matter how big or small. I had a German Shepherd puppy with an abnormal gait and a Russian Blue cat with plaque on his teeth. Despite the variances in conditions, both of my animals were treated with an equal amount of love and kindness from all the staff. 6 months on, my not so little puppy has a near to perfect gait and my feline prince has nice pearly whites again. All fees are charged at reasonable rates with the convenience of a regional location".
