Working in a veterinary clinic brings the brightest of smiles to our faces, even on the toughest days.
And it is always a joy to treat Australia’s amazing wildlife!
This beautiful little echidna was recently brought in for an examination.
The kind person who found him had noted he was very slow moving around, not walking very well, and not curling into a ball properly.
Upon, examination, he was found to be very thin, a little bit dehydrated, and was having difficulty walking with his back legs. X-rays were performed and, luckily, they did not reveal any deformities or fractures, which was great news.
After we administered some intravenous fluids to help with his dehydration, we passed him on to a wildlife carer for rehabilitation.
Fingers crossed this beautiful little critter makes a speedy recovery and is released back into the wild as soon as possible.
